Field Engineer II

Field Engineer II is a part of the Operations Group and is responsible for ensuring that all drawings, specifications and other information necessary for developing and executing projects are accurate and available to the Project Team. S/he is a hands-on leader and manager of the engineering process, responsible for managing each project‚ s entire engineering requirements and efforts. In addition, s/he is a member of the Project Development Team, in which capacity s/he is responsible and accountable for providing engineering support in developing estimates, schedules and other documents pertinent to developing proposals and developing projects. Detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  • Engineering Services ‚ Providing studies, analyses, and other services needed to determine project technical criteria and to support project design efforts; procuring engineering services for those studies that cannot be performed in-house.

  • Technical Data Development - Developing designs, drawings, specifications, bills of materials and other technical information necessary to completely and accurately describe each project and to provide for developing proposals and executing projects.

  • Technical Information Evaluation and Analysis - Evaluating specifications, drawings, scope documents and other bid package information; developing a thorough understanding of scopes of work provided with requests for proposals and change orders; where scope information may be unclear or contradictory, developing questions, making inquiries and resolving these uncertainties; esearching scope items that are unfamiliar, and communicating as needed to ensure that the Project Development Team has sufficient understanding of the work to develop the proposal.

  • Component Specification, Development, Review and Analysis ‚ Evaluating components, equipment and materials for appropriate application for projects; development specifications for equipment to be procured for projects and evaluate vendor specifications to ensure that they meet Tri-Technic‚ s specifications and that pricing is competitive.

  • Take-off Development - Developing complete take-offs necessary to itemize quantities and types of materials and components, and acquiring accurate cost information from vendors and suppliers; providing estimators with this information and other support as needed.

  • Risk Analysis - Identifying and quantifying risks inherent in the project; communicating to and working with the rest of the Project Development Team to appropriately address and mitigate the risks.

  • Site Inspections - Leading or participating in pre-proposal site visits and meetings with potential clients; collecting information, including photographs; analyzing and evaluating all site-specific factors to ensure that they are taken into account in the development of estimates.

  • Change Order Support - Supporting Project Managers in the evaluation of subcontractor change order requests.

  • Performance Improvement - Critiquing engineering, design and estimating performance; evaluating designs and estimates against actual post-project cost information; documenting and communicating lessons learned; archiving and maintaining historical information for both legal and future project reasons; continually improving and updating estimating data sources; driving continuous engineering performance improvement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
