The network of schools is operated by the nonprofit California Online Public Schools and currently includes six schools serving students in 32 counties in California, including Orange and San Joaquin counties.
California Connections Academy schools are accredited by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Position Summary and Responsibilities The Special Education Enrollment Coordinator's role primarily focuses on facilitating the enrollment process for prospective students who are receiving Special Education services already, ensuring that families have a seamless and positive experience from initial contact to official enrollment.
The Enrollment Coordinator serves as a knowledgeable resource for applicants about the school as a whole, and especially in regards to the Student Services Department, providing them with information, guidance, and support throughout the enrollment journey.
The role of an Enrollment Coordinator is crucial in ensuring that a family's first interactions and experience with the school is a positive one.
By providing exceptional customer service, support, and information, these Coordinators contribute to the school's overall success and growth, fostering a diverse and engaged student community.
This position will be predominantly remote with the possibility of in office days and limited annual travel for teambuilding and professional development purposes.

Responsibilities:
Application Assistance:
The Enrollment Coordinator guides prospective families through the application process, assisting them in completing necessary forms, gathering required documents, and ensuring the submission of accurate and complete information.
They offer personalized support to applicants, addressing their questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
Information Resource:
The Enrollment Coordinator is often the first person that prospective families may speak with from the school, and is expected to be able to provide in-depth information about admission requirements, school policies, the services provided by Student Services and Case Managers, and can connect families with the appropriate Administrator from the Student Services Department if the family has additional questions or concerns.
Collaborative Coordination:
The Enrollment Coordinator collaborates with various departments within California Connections Academy to ensure a smooth enrollment process for applicants.
They communicate and coordinate effectively with these departments to resolve any enrollment-related issues, track application statuses, and provide timely updates to applicants.
Data Management:
The Enrollment Coordinator maintains accurate and up-to-date records of applicants, including contact information, application materials, and communication history.
They will utilize the school's enrollment systems to track applicant progress, generate reports, and resolve customer issues.
Document Review:
The Special Education Enrollment Coordinator will review any IEP or 504 Plan documents that are submitted during the registration process, ensuring that they are the expert on these applications from start to finish, so they are prepared to answer any questions their families may have about their enrollment status.
Withdrawal Support:
The Special Education Enrollment Coordinator will also assist with required withdrawal tasks when a student exits the school.
These tasks may include working with Case Managers, SEIS Coordinators, and other school staff to ensure that the student's withdrawal is processed efficiently and with a high level of accuracy.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills 3-5 years of previous Special Education experience Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (such as education, counseling, or business administration) or equivalent work experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to engage and connect with diverse individuals.
A customer-focused approach, displaying empathy, patience, and professionalism in all interactions.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Google Apps and web-based applications is essential Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
A keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and document processing.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment Previous experience in educational fields such as enrollment management, admissions, or student services is highly desirable.
Physical Capabilities Ability to carry loads of up to 20 pounds over a distance of several meters on a weekly basis Ability to transport loads (with assistance of dolly, cart or co-worker) 25 pounds or more over a distance of 100 meters on an occasional basis Ability to move files, documents or supplies around an office space on a daily basis Ability to work at a computer work station for 8 hours per day Repetitive bending or twisting for a duration of approximately one hour two to five times per week Occasional need to ascend a short ladder or step stool California Connections Academy strives to create an inclusive environment that welcomes and values the diversity of the people we serve.
